While I wait

For the Season I Am Still Waiting

God,

I see what You have done for others. I see how You have led people out of the deepest valleys, out of the darkest nights, out of situations where they no longer believed that their lives could ever change.

And even when I am at my lowest, even when it feels like the darkness is stronger than the light I want to see Your light.

I want to hope. I want to believe. I want to believe that what You have done for others, You will one day do for me, too.

I believe that one day my story will no longer be only a story of waiting. That one day I will look back and say:

“I didn’t know how. I didn’t know when. But God had not forgotten me.”

And maybe one day I will share my story with others. With people who are standing where I am standing today. People who are at their lowest and can no longer believe that their lives could ever be different.

And maybe, through my story, they will believe again.

When I feel like I will never make it, remind me that You have already brought me this far.

When I think that it will never happen for me, help me to keep believing that my time will come, too.

God, help me to be patient. Help me to hold on even when I cannot yet see where You are leading me.

Help me to hold on to Your Word when my feelings tell me something different.

And when I find myself at my lowest again, remind me of Your love.

Remind me that I am not alone.

That You are walking with me through every step, through every situation, through every disappointment, through every season of waiting, and through every night in which I cannot yet see Your light.

Help me trust that You are writing my story, too.

Amen.
